1,Single Cask Komagatake 2013 No.1663 AGED 7 YEARS
Aged in bourbon barrels for at least 7 years, heavily peated(50ppm)
A very peaty whisky, whose full presence can be enjoyed from the nose to the aftertaste.
The impression is that there is also a hint of sweetness reminiscent of vanilla and syrup, which enhances the smokiness.
Straight, it is lighter and easier to drink than expected and smoothly slips into the mouth. When water is added, the taste is sweet > smoky, as if the sweetness has been pushed to the forefront. The aftertaste is also long and sweet, with a soft smokiness.
