Today we are pleased to announce the arrival of Glen Muscle No. 8 “Five Spirits” Akkeshi Blend, a new limited release from Glen Muscle and Kenntenn Industrial and Akkeshi Distillery.
The eighth edition of Glen Muscle, a whisky brand by enthusiasts for enthusiasts.
Glenmuscle No. 8 “Five Spirits” Akkeshi blend, limited to 300 bottles.
The subtitle “Five Spirits” expresses the passion of the five distilleries and their brewers (Team Glen Muscle + 4 Hokkaido BARs).
It is a world blended whisky blended from the original spirits of three distilleries in Japan and two distilleries in Scotland. The original spirits from the domestic distilleries are from the two distilleries used for test aging at the Akkeshi distillery’s planned construction site. For the overseas source whisky, Islay malt and grain source whisky imported from Scotland were used.
This is a superb bottle that was commercialized after about a year from the conception.
Fusion of Akkeshi Malt and Islay Malt
From the moment I sipped it, I could really taste the Akkeshi flavor. After the roughness, the scotch grain brings everything together nicely.
When watered down, the flavor changes drastically, and the gorgeous, fruity character comes to the forefront, as if it has regained its composure. The richness and umami of the strong malt flavor can also be felt, even with added water. Complex and deep flavor is the perfect description for this bottle.
It can be said that this bottle is the fruit of the efforts of the Glen Muscle members and those who participated in the selection of the recipe.
Tasting Notes
