40th Anniversary Single Malt Whisky
Mars Komagatake Distillery, which commenced operations in 1985, celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025. To mark this occasion, we have created a special single malt whisky that encapsulates the distillery’s 40-year history in a single bottle, blending spirit from four distinct decades—the 1980s, 1990s, 2010s and 2020s—excluding the 2000s, during which the distillery was dormant.
Using spirit from a variety of casks, including bourbon, sherry and American white oak, it is finished without chill filtration to allow you to enjoy a flavour that is as close as possible to the original spirit. The aroma features a multi-layered interplay of sweetness reminiscent of apple jam, ripe apricots and melon, combined with vanilla and barrel-aged notes. On the palate, you can enjoy a sweetness akin to raisins and maple syrup, complemented by a hint of cinnamon-like spice and a richness reminiscent of roasted chestnuts and chocolate.

At ‘BAR Shinkai’, we serve this whisky by the glass: 45ml for 7,260 yen, 30ml for 4,840 yen, and 15ml for 2,420 yen.
