A new history born in Chichibu, surrounded by deep mountains in the northwestern part of Saitama Prefecture, began to mark the next step in 2019.
Tradition and innovation, change and inheritance, each created in harmony, the original Chichibu is characterized by a heavy flavor and lustrous fruity aroma from direct distillation, which deepens its enjoyment over time.
The blend is made mainly from bourbon barrels, and is impressive for its rich honey-like sweetness, deep fruitiness, and long, smoky, malty finish. This is the first single malt whisky born from the Chichibu No. 2 distillery.
Enjoy this new step forward slowly, while thinking about the future.
Tasting Comments】
The nose is sweet vanilla overlaid with fruity notes like pineapple candy and pear, with complex nuances like tortoiseshell candy.
The palate has depth, with the mild sweetness of honey, the richness of apple pie and custard cream, and the spice of cinnamon and nutmeg.
The finish is smoky and long, accompanied by a thickness of wheat.
