【New Item】Single Malt Whisky Yoichi 10 Years

~New arrival of an aged product with the number of years of maturity indicated for the first time in seven years since 2015~

Single malt whisky “Single Malt Yoichi 10 Years” is a single malt whisky with a powerful and profound flavor brought about by the aged Yoichi malt. It has a woody sweet oak aroma, ripe banana-like fruit aroma, and a powerful and complex malt aroma. It also has a sweet and sour taste like pear and a peaty flavor reminiscent of smoked fish, with a long, pleasant aftertaste that harmonizes the heavy richness and peaty aroma. The package proudly displays the words “Yoichi” and “10 years” and uses Japanese paper as the label material, creating a high-quality atmosphere. The base color of the label is darker than that of “Single Malt Yoichi” to express a sense of maturity. Overseas sales are also planned.

In 2021, we launched the “NIKKA DISCOVERY Series,” which focuses on the depth of whisky created by Nikka Whisky’s diverse range of original spirits and the different production processes, including raw materials and fermentation. In October, part of the “Whisky Museum,” a whisky tour facility at the Yoichi Distillery in Hokkaido, was renovated for the first time in 23 years and opened as the “Nikka Museum. In February of this year, some of the buildings at the Yoichi Distillery were designated as “Important Cultural Properties” by the Japanese government.

In preparation for Nikka Whisky’s 90th anniversary in 2024, we will continue to strengthen our efforts to convey various attractions to our customers. By releasing aged products with the age of maturity indicated for the first time in seven years, Nikka Whisky will provide customers with even more appealing single malt whisky. In response to diversifying consumer needs, Asahi Breweries aims to further revitalize the whisky market, while pursuing customer satisfaction and “creating a lifestyle culture that exceeds expectations in taste and enjoyment.
