The Ozuzu mountain massif is one of the most prominent mountain areas in Miyazaki Prefecture. It is known for its abundance of water with an annual precipitation of 3,000 millimeters.
In 1998, the Osuzu Distillery was established to take advantage of the abundant water resources of the Osuzu Mountains.
All raw materials are grown in Kyushu, koji and malt making is done by hand, and the koji making room and vats for making unrefined sake are all made of wood, reflecting our commitment to wood in our whisky, gin, and shochu.
Our product is a Japanese single malt whisky made from hand-malted barley grown by our “Reviving the Earth Society” and matured in barrels made of Miyazaki cherry and American oak.
