The Miyagikyo Distillery stands in a tranquil gorge where two clear streams converge—a location reached in his later years by Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky and the ‘Father of Japanese Whisky’. Here, the smooth Miyagikyo single malt—crafted through meticulous steam-distillation—is further matured. It offers a fruity aroma reminiscent of apples and citrus, with a hint of sweet vanilla. The rich flavour profile features a harmonious blend of ripe fruit and malt sweetness. It is characterised by a sweet, slightly bitter finish derived from barrel maturation.
