Kinryu Co., Ltd. which operates the Yusa Distillery was founded in 1950 as a joint venture by nine sake breweries in Yamagata Prefecture, and produces neutral spirits called brewing alcohol and Kou-type shochu made with a continuous distillation machine.
Kinryu is the only shochu specialist in Yamagata, but when it considered the declining consumption of shochu and sake and the population problems in Yamagata Prefecture, the whisky business was a new venture for the future.
We carefully select first-fill bourbon barrel-aged whiskey and bottle it at cask strength with the weight of six years intact.
Aromas reminiscent of vanilla and apricot are layered with smooth flavors, and the fruity character typical of the Yusa distillery lingers into the aftertaste.
We hope you will enjoy the depth and evolution brought about by the aging process.
