【New Item】SHINDO EXPERIMENTAL 01″ single malt Japanese whisky

SHINDO EXPERIMENTAL 01, the first release as a distillery, will go on sale simultaneously nationwide on Saturday, June 14.

Shinozaki has been brewing whisky for more than 200 years under the philosophy of “THE QUEST FOR THE ORIGINAL,” and this distillery will be a new challenge for the company. Shindo distillery has been producing whiskey on a large site of about 5500 tsubo in the area called “Shindo” in Asakura, Fukuoka Prefecture since 2021.

We will start our journey with the “EXPERIMENTAL series” from now on.

EXPERIMENTAL“ means ”experimental.

We have great respect for the predecessors of Japanese whisky.

That is why we would like to take the first step “as a newcomer, as a challenger with humility”. We are not interested in a finished product, but rather in the best we can currently offer. We have the premise that we will make the best proposal we can at this point in time.

With this in mind, we will continue to pursue our philosophy of “the new way to the high road” over the next few years as the “EXPERIMENTAL Series”.

In developing the commemorative first product, SHINDO EXPERIMENTAL 01, we sampled casks that will bring 3 to 4 years of aging in May 2025 to determine the aroma and flavor conditions.

Next, the blender created about 100 basic batting samples of about 100 patterns for consideration. In the selection process, we focused on “whether or not it embodies the character of Shindo Distillery.
The most important criterion was whether or not the lactonic aroma, which is milky and fudgy, which we value, could be fully felt.

We carefully selected bourbon casks as the core, batched with Quercus, Oloroso sherry, and refill scotch casks. The result is a wonderful finish that minimizes the sense of unripeness, allows you to fully experience the aroma that we wanted to express, and allows you to enjoy the lingering aroma for a long time.

The alcohol content is set slightly higher at 50%.
Whisky is a luxury item, and some customers enjoy it in various ways at bars or at home. One of the important factors is the enjoyment of adding water.

We chose the alcohol content for this product because we wanted our customers to enjoy the changes that occur when water is added. We hope that by adding water, the alcohol attack will be reduced and the aroma will be broadened, so we hope that customers will add water according to their own preferences and explore the changes in aroma and their favorite alcohol content range.

At BAR SHINKAI, the brew is available in small quantities of 45ml (4,290 yen), 30ml (2,860 yen), and 15ml (1,430 yen) per glass.
