Toranomon Bar Shinkai has been open for four months since its opening in June 2018, and this month marks the beginning of its fifth month.In just the past four months, we have had many customers from the Kamiyacho and Toranomon neighborhoods visit our store.
Thanks to all of you, the store has fallen down and we are getting there little by little. Once again, we would like to thank everyone for their support.
I had many thoughts in mind when I decided to open “BAR Shinkai.
“We want more customers to enjoy our delicious drinks and food, and to spend time in our high-quality, relaxed space.”……To this end, we have thought long and hard about the concept of the restaurant, the product lineup, our commitment to domestic sake, original cocktails, fruit cocktails, a wide variety of dishes, medicinal curries, and so on.
We hope that we will be able to inform our customers on a regular basis, as it is impossible to do so in a few words.

1.This Month’s Sake「The Macallan」

This famous whiskey, which many of you know, has been carefully selected from the manufacturing process and is called the “Rolls Royce of single malts” for its perfection and sublime taste.
Many people have heard of Macallan but do not know what kind of alcohol it is.
This time, we would like to reintroduce The Macallan to you.

The Macallan distillery is located in the Speyside district of the Highlands in northern Scotland. Macallan was born in 1824.
Whisky had previously been produced as moonshine, but Macallan became the second government-registered distillery to obtain a license.
(The first one is “The Glenlivet”, registered by the government in the same year 1824.)
Macallan is made in Speyside and is characterized by its elegant sweetness, mildness, and gorgeous aroma.
It is an easy-to-drink, non-habit-forming type of whisky among various whiskies.
The luxurious and luxurious taste is created by using only the original wine matured in “sherry casks*“, which are thoroughly controlled by Macallan, even down to the barrels used to make the casks themselves.We offer The Macallan 12 and The Macallan 18. We hope you will enjoy them!

2.Seasonal Fruit Cocktails 「Persimmon」

During the summer months, “the Watermelon Salty Dog2, made with a vodka base, was by far the most popular. If you forgot to drink it, please wait until next year.
Now, the fruits in season in October are “persimmons”, “pears“, and “grapes “.
At our bar, we use simple drinks such as rum, vodka, and in some cases gin, which do not spoil the taste and aroma of the fruit.
This time, we would like to especially recommend persimmons.
Persimmons contain an amazing amount of nutrients, so much so that the old saying goes, “When persimmons turn red, doctors turn blue”.
It is rich in vitamin C, vitamin A, beta-cryptoxatine, potassium, tannins, and dietary fiber. This is a fruit that should definitely be consumed during this season when it is difficult to take care of one’s health.

In addition to seasonal fruits, year-round fruits such as “kiwi, pineapple, banana, orange, and grapefruit” are also available.

3.Japanese Claft Gin「NIKKA Coffey Gin」

Domestic craft gin” is now highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad and has become a considerable topic of conversation, with manufacturers releasing new products one after another.
BAR Shinkai also offers a wide selection of domestic craft gins.
This time, we would like to introduce “NIKKA Coffey Gin,” which was released last June.
Made in a Café-style continuous distiller, this gin is made with a total of 11 botanicals based on sansho (Japanese pepper).

The blending techniques cultivated over many years of whiskey making are put to good use, and the finished product, Coffey Gin, is well balanced with a strong sense of the flavors of the ingredients.
We recommend this for first-time domestic craft gin drinkers.
Whether you prefer it straight or mixed with soda, please try it when you come to our store.

4.Gems of the BAR 「Salmon and Avocado Tartar」&「grated radish with shirasu」

BAR Shinkai offers a wide variety of dishes for your first visit. Among about 40 dishes such as appetizers, salads, meat dishes, pizzas, soba noodles, etc., we would like to introduce two dishes this time.
『Salmon and Avocado Tartar ~with Bread~』
Tartar is made by carefully selecting smoked salmon for tartar and mixing it with a secret sauce made from avocado, onions and several seasonings. Served on a bucket, it is a perfect accompaniment to drinks.
A perfect accompaniment to beer, wine, and highballs.

『Grated radish with shirasu
Grated daikon radish and dried shirasu. It is a simple dish of grated radish and dried shirasu.
Dried young sardines are sun-dried and lightly salted to bring out their flavor and not interfere with the flavor of radish.
A perfect accompaniment to sake, beer, and highballs.
