The new fiscal year in April and the cherry blossom season have passed in a blink of an eye, and we have entered Golden Week, a 10-day holiday.
Due to its location, it is an office district, so BAR Shinkai will be closed during consecutive holidays according to the calendar, but our sister store DiningBAR Hidden Lounge Azabu Juban is open as usual except for Mondays, which are regular holidays.

So, this month, we will deliver some information, including the latest information.
1.This Month’s Sake 「Single Malt Miyagikyo」「Doppo Omachi Rice Lager Beer」
This month, I would like to introduce two bottles of BAR Shinkai’s recommended sake.
The first bottle is “Single Malt Miyagikyo” from Miyagi Prefecture’s Miyagikyo distillery, where Masataka Taketsuru, known as the father of Japanese whisky, created his next distillery after Yoichi distillery.
The Miyagikyo distillery was completed in 1969, and “Single Malt Miyagikyo” was created in 1989 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its operation. It is now known as one of Nikka Whisky’s premium brand single malt whiskies, along with Yoichi Whisky, and is characterized by its gorgeous, fruity, smooth taste, aroma reminiscent of apples and pears, and gentle mouthfeel.
BAR Shinkai handles two types of Miyagikyo whisky. Please try it when you come to the store.

The second bottle is a domestic craft beer “Doppo Omachi Rice Lager Beer”.
“Omachi Mai ” is said to be the origin of the sake brewing rice variety, and is grown mainly in Okayama Prefecture as a rice suitable for sake brewing.
Omachi Rice Lager is a luxurious beer that uses “Omachi Mai” as a secondary ingredient, polished to a 60% rice polishing ratio, just like ginjo sake.” In order to bring out the characteristics of “Omachi Mai”, the beer is fermented at a lower temperature than usual and aged slowly, with “sake brewing” in mind.
It is light and has a transparent flavor.

3.Japanese Craft GIN「KOZUE」
Domestic craft GIN is highly recommended in our bar.
This month: “KOZUE”
“KOZUE” is a craft gin made in Wakayama Prefecture, using lavish amounts of locally harvested ingredients.
The main botanicals used are kouyamaki, juniper berries, Onshu mandarin orange peel, lemon peel, and sansho (a type of Japanese pepper). The gorgeous sweet aroma of the Onshu mandarin orange is elegantly mingled with the refreshing lemon flavor, and the sansho accent gives the gin a crisp and refreshing aftertaste.
The “Kouyamaki” leaf is a rare and valuable coniferous leaf, and its use in gin as well as its use in food (beverages) is a world first.
The combination of Kouyamaki, juniper berries, and citrus fruits such as mandarin oranges and lemons creates a gin that elegantly mixes the aroma of forest with the gorgeous and refreshing flavor of citrus fruits.
We recommend drinking it with tonic or in various cocktails. Please try it when you visit us.
