For the “second” bottle of BAR Shinkai’s 15th anniversary commemorative edition, we are pleased to announce the bottling of “Linkwood 15years old” in cooperation with “Single Cask Japan”, the Japanese subsidiary of the UK independent bottler “The Single Cask Ltd”, which is a suitable bottle for the 15th anniversary.
Linkwood distillery is a distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland owned by Diageo, and since more than 90% of the distillate is produced for blended whisky, there have been few official single malt whisky bottlings released.
As a single malt, it is only released as a single cask from Diageo’s “Flowers and Animals Series” and from various bottlers.
The “Linkwood 15 Year Old” bottled by BAR Shinkai is a 15-year-old single malt whisky distilled in February 2010, stored for 15 years in Hogshead casks, and bottled at cask strength (58.7%) in February 2025.
It has a very gorgeous aroma and taste, with a tightly squeezed fruitiness and a long, strong aftertaste, making it a very memorable whisky.
Linkwood is known as a distillery with a swan as its symbol, which is derived from the fact that two swans fly to the pond where cooling water is stored in the distillery every year.
The distillery is also known for its fruity, floral, and gorgeous Speyside-style flavor, and its rich, dense, and sexy whisky.
The design of this year’s label is a combination of the two episodes mentioned above, with a motif of two swans that fly over every year, and one of them is replaced by a beautiful woman in order to express the beauty element of the whisky’s flavor.
At “BAR SHINKAI,” the whiskey is available in small quantities of 45 ml (3,300 yen), 30 ml (2,200 yen), and 15 ml (1,100 yen) per glass.
