Today we are pleased to announce the arrival of Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu The Peated 2016, a limited release from Venture Whisky Corporation and Chichibu Distillery.
「Chichibu The Peated」 is a superb series produced by the Chichibu distillery, with a focus on the peated raw whisky.
Smoky whisky with a strong character. It’s not to everyone’s taste, but once you’ve been seduced by its smokiness, it’s addictive and you’ll find that non-pete whisky just isn’t enough.
All the original pure form of whisky used were distilled in 2012.
Smokiness on a par with Laphroaig and Ardbeg continues strongly from nose to finish. It also has a sweetness from the oak and dried oranges.
It has a richness and sweetness that you wouldn’t expect from a four-year old, and the malt flavours have a strong presence. The impression is that each flavour is well integrated.
