The recent whisky boom has seen the number of domestic distilleries exceed 100, and with the increase in both the range and distribution volume of Japanese whisky products, customers now have a wider choice. However, the products circulating domestically as Japanese whisky are predominantly high-priced single malt whiskies, and the current situation is that there are few options in the more affordable blended Japanese whisky category. Sakurao B&D, one of the few companies capable of producing both malt and grain whisky in-house, has leveraged this strength to develop a new product, “Blended Japanese Whisky SOGAINI”. This stems from a desire to offer a Japanese whisky that can be enjoyed casually in everyday life.
• This blended Japanese whisky uses only malt whisky and grain whisky fermented, distilled, and matured in-house (a product meeting the Japanese Whisky labelling standards of the Japan Distillers Association).
• Distinctive among blended whiskies for its high malt ratio, delivering a robust yet delicate and fruity aroma. Sweet, vanilla-like notes rise, followed by a palate where chocolate-like sweetness is complemented by a soft, ripe citrus acidity. When served as a highball, the malt-derived fruity aroma becomes pronounced, offering a refreshingly smooth mouthfeel that enhances its drinkability.
• By utilising base spirits from Sakurao B&D’s two warehouses (Sakurao Warehouse (Sakurao, Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture) and Togouchi Warehouse (Togouchi, Akiota Town, Yamagata District, Hiroshima Prefecture)), we have crafted a complex flavour profile where the distinct character of each base spirit is discernible.
