While it is a classical blend with a malt ratio of 51% or higher, the same as regular Akkeshi Blended Whisky, the grain in this “Winter Solstice” is made from grain whisky produced at the Akkeshi Distillery. This is the first single blended Japanese whisky in Hokkaido.
This is the 18th edition of Akkeshi’s “Twenty-Four Season Series”. Including this Winter Solstice, there are only 8 more in the series, and in about 2 years, the 24 Seasonal Season Series will come to an end.
Excluding the Touji, the remaining seasons are Rikka, Risshun, Shoukan, Shunbun, Geshi, and Shuubun.
The following images show the official bottles of Akkeshi Distillery released so far from the first single malt whisky, Saron Kamuy. Special bottles like “Oyster Lullaby”, ‘Kamuichikapu’, and “Repun Kamui” are also well listed.
Hokkaido’s first single blended Japanese whisky.
All of the malt and grain used were produced at the Akkeshi Distillery.
It is a classic blend that embodies the northern land, using Hokkaido’s barley and grains in abundance as ingredients.
Please enjoy Akkeshi Whisky as never before in this season of the beginning of the year, which is also known as “Ichiyo-raifuku” (the return of the sun).
